Organic and Inorganic

Research in organic and inorganic chemistry at NYU encompasses investigations at the frontier of organic synthesis, bioorganic and bioinorganic chemistry, and materials science. Specific areas of research include model enzymes, peptidomimetic design, molecular sensors, combinatorial library synthesis, supramolecular and host-guest chemistry, bioactive fullerenes, tools for asymmetric synthesis and chiral analysis, and the development of new strategies for the synthesis of a wide array of biologically important molecules. Much of the division is interested in research at the interface of organic chemistry and other areas such as biology, materials science, and nanotechnology.
