ChemDraw Ultra Now Available for Free Download through NYU Site License
NYU recently purchased an Annual Site License for
ChemDraw Ultra, which now is available for download from the CambridgeSoft
website. This software enables the user to draw chemical and biological
structures, and for Windows users, perform 3-D visualization of molecules and a
limited set of force field calculations for structure optimization. As such,
this program is useful for research and education. Students will find this
particularly helpful for visualizing structures and for drawing structures for
assignments and projects. Instructors will no longer need to purchase and
maintain their own copy. The program also provides a conduit to
databases.
Anyone with an NYU email address can to download
this fully functional chemistry or biology software and have access to online
databases via the prepaid New York University site license.
All
are encouraged to use ChemDraw for research as well as for classroom
instruction. Note that this license will be available only if we use it,
so please take advantage of this resource. To download ChemDraw Ultra,
and access any related database subscriptions, go to:

We would like to thank Margaret Smith, Physical Sciences Librarian, for her efforts in obtaining the NYU site license for ChemDraw and for making the funding possible to purchase this software.
