In addition to general Graduate
School of Arts and Science requirements for admission, applicants are
expected to have completed an undergraduate degree in chemistry or a
related field with superior grades in science courses. The Graduate
Record Examination (GRE) scores from the general test and the advanced
chemistry (or other appropriate advanced-level area) test are required.
Students whose native language is not English must submit the score
from either the Test of Spoken English (TSE) or the Test of English as
a Foreign Language (TOEFL).Students beginning graduate study are
usually accepted only for September admission.Part-time candidates for
the M.S. degree are accepted only if they are able to attend classes in
the daytime, since very few courses are offered in the evening.
